About the Authors
Yvonne Evans Morrison
Yvonne Evans Morrison is a managing partner at MVP Video & Promotions in Burlington, NC, a company she and her husband own, where she writes content for websites and video scripts, among other responsibilities. She is Kendall Morrison’s mom and has been there for every frustrating and glorious moment Kendall and her horse, Ravi, have experienced. She is a horse lover whose favorite pastime is being a groom for Kendall at horse shows where Yvonne occasionally shows, too, with Kendall as her coach.
Yvonne holds a B.A. in English/Journalism from Elon College (now Elon University). The short story version of From Pasture Plug to Champion won first place in the 2019 Burlington Writers Club writing contest in the Adult Nonfiction category. A native of Mebane, NC, her essay entitled “The House of Many Barns” about her parents’ tobacco barn log home was selected for publication in John Edwards’ book, Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives, which was released in 2006 by Collins.
Yvonne is a former clogging instructor and co-director of a competition clogging team. She still likes to clog in her kitchen when an upbeat song is playing while she’s cooking.

Kendall Morrison
Kendall Morrison lives and works in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from North Carolina State University where she majored in Science, Technology, and Society with a concentration in Food, Health, and Gender studies with a minor in Nutrition. She trained her horse Ravi beginning when he was three years old and she was 12. Kendall has been riding since she was eight years old and continues to do so.
Riding horses has been a dream of hers for as long as she can remember. After competing with Ravi for five years, Kendall purchased a Quarter Horse while she was still in college that she named Tyson. She worked to pay for all of Tyson’s expenses, and she competed successfully with him in the NC Quarter Horse Association for two years winning state championships in 2018 and 2019. She gave Tyson to her mom in 2020, and she and her mom enjoy going on trail rides together with Ravi and Tyson. She is an animal lover through and through. She has another horse, Patriot, along with two dogs, and two cats. Kendall is passionate about animals and public health. She is working toward a career bettering public health initiatives for mothers, children, and women planning to have children.
Her other goals in life are to travel the world, be a mom, and, as always, keep on riding.
